This post is going to be a little bit of a different one for me today. Rather than focus on something beauty based, it’s much more of a lifestyle/fitness post. Now I’m going to start this of by saying that I am by no means a technology expert, nor am I a complete and utter gym bunny (although I wish I was!) but I do like to be active, and it was one of my main goals this year to up my exercise game and to be as fit and healthy as possible.
I had been seeing different types of Fitbit on nearly every single person that I came across and I had been researching them for a really long time to try and decide which one I felt was most suitable for me. Some of them are really fancy and monitor your heart rate and stuff, but I wasn’t really interested in any of that. All I wanted one for mainly was to count my steps on a day to day basis, and to monitor my sleep. I also wanted something quite subtle looking on my wrist, and because I like to wear watches, I didn’t need anything with a screen on it to tell me the time. In the end I went with the Fitbit Flex 2, and I couldn’t be any happier with that choice.
The Fitbit itself is a really small little device that slots into a rubber wrist band that does up with a metal clasp type thingy. It’s very comfortable to wear (I wear it day and night) and the colour band I picked is lilac purely because I preferred it to the black one. The charge lasts for a good 4/5 days which is amazing as I wanted something with a good battery life. Another reason I went with the Flex 2 is because it’s swim proof, therefore I am able to wear it in and out of swimming pools, the sea and the shower/bath. The stand out features of the Flex 2 as said on the website are:
- The fact that it’s swim-proof
- It has interchangeable accessories, so you change the band to a bangle/necklace/different colour band..
- Reminders to move – will vibrate twice and light up pink to remind you to keep moving
- Smart track (auto exercise recognition) – mine picked up when I was cycling on a bike the other day, I was well impressed!!
- Text & Call Notifications – Will vibrate and light up blue for a text, and continuously vibrates when getting a call until the phone stops ringing/you pick up
This little device has done wonders for me, and I find myself getting really motivated to keep reaching my 10,000 daily step goal. There are different badges to be earned too for different challenges which make it really fun also.
When you have bought a fitbithe app is so clear and easy to use. I also love the layout of it. It includes all of the essential peices of information on the dashboard and you can reorder them to suit which is most important for you. For example, I have my steps showing in the centre as the main bit of information because to me, that’s what I care about the most. It also shows you how many hours sleep you got that night, how many active minutes you had that day, how many calories you burnt, how far you’ve walked in km’s, and how much of your recommended daily intake of water you’ve had.
The Fitbit Flex 2 is a really handy little piece of kit, and I haven’t taken it off my wrist since I got it in January. For anyone thinking of getting a fitness related device, or wanting something to motivate themselves to become more active, I couldn’t recommend Fitbit enough. Do some research into the best type of Fitbit is for you (there’s loads) but definitely take the plunge!! You won’t be disappointed. The customer service team are some of the most helpful people I have ever come across.
Hope you enjoyed reading this review guys, have any of you had experiences with Fitbit?
See you next time,
