So some of you may already know, but Harry Potter is pretty much my favourite thing in the world (apart from my dog obviously). It was my childhood. My mum would pre-order every new book so we would have it when it first came out, and she used to read it to us every night. Then when I was old enough I read them all myself over and over again. The films are also just everything. I can remember seeing the brand new films and just being in awe at how gorgeous and magical they are. Harry Potter is adored by everyone in my family – hence why we named our puppy Albus! We call him Albus Dumbledog!
My Christmas from my wonderful boyfriend was tickets to the Warner Bros Studio Tour in Watford, London. The last time I went was in 2012 and I know so much has changed since then so I was dropping hints all the time leading up to Christmas because I was DESPERATE to go back and see Hogwarts in the Snow. I was ecstatic when I opened those tickets up on Christmas Day – the boy did SO well. We live in Cornwall (which is why we don’t go as often as I’d like) so we took the drive up on the 28 December and it was just out of this world – I am still on such a high from it now. For those of you who love Harry Potter and the Studios as much as me, know what I mean – it’s so emotional and overwhelming, I felt like I was home again!
I have thought about doing a photo diary because I took hundreds of photos, but I decided against it because I don’t want to ruin the surprise fir anyone who hasn’t been before, so instead, I thought I would show you what I picked up from the gift shop. I had to be so careful not to go mad, because I could have quite easily spent every penny I have in there but I managed to resist and kept the haul fairly small!
- THE ELDERWAND
You can’t go to the Harry Potter Studios and not come home with a wand, especially the most powerful wand in the world! I was unsure at first with the wands, purely because I wasn’t sure what I’d do with it if I had one, but in the end I just thought to myself GET IT. So I did, and I just display it in my room now on one of my shelves and I’m in love. I can’t wait to add more wands to my collection now!
- HERMIONES WAND
So the Elderwand was technically bought for my boyfriend (although we live together so it’s mine too hehe) and we wanted one each. I was so undecided between Luna’s wand and Hermione’s. Both are so beautiful and feminine, and being female I did want a wand that belonged to a female character. I decided in the end that it had to be Hermione’s! Although, I’m definitely going back for Luna’s one day!
- MARAUDERS MAP MUG
I have wanted a Harry Potter mug for so long. I’m really unlucky with mugs in my house and everyone always ends up breaking or cracking my mugs! I had the best Shrek mug from Shrek’s Adventure in London, and a brilliant mug with wellies on from a trip to Centre Parcs which got smashed, so I was desperate for a new one, and this is exactly the sort of thing I had in mind. It’s massive which is great because I drink so much tea. I also keep it in my bedroom so there’s no risk of anyone breaking it! I’m very possessive over it haha.
- HOGWARTS IN THE SNOW BAG FOR LIFE
I had been seeing these all over the place and I knew I had to get one, it’s just the perfect souvenir of the trip. It has the picture of Hogwarts in the Snow and it’s something I can keep forever and use over and over again. I love it!
You can access the Studio Tour shop online now which is probably one of the best things to ever happen to me! https://shop.wbstudiotour.co.uk/.
That’s all for my mini Harry Potter haul! I’m sure this is only the beginning of the Harry Potter hauls! Let me know what you guys have bought from the studios before, I would love to know!
Thanks for reading!
