Life Update – It’s been a while!

Hi everyone, it’s been a while!

A lot has been going on for little old me over the last couple of months which has meant that my blog has been slightly neglected. My blog is something I’m really passionate about, and something I adore doing. However, things got a little bit hectic which mean I didn’t have time to blog, and I also at times didn’t want to. I am now determined now to get back into the swing of blogging again, and I’m feeling like I’m ready.

I guess I’ll start with the biggest thing that has been going on since the beginning of May, I have been undergoing CBT sessions for anxiety. I am not going into detail too much about this now as I have only had 5 sessions, and it’s something that is still very current, but that is definitely the biggest reason for my little break! I have always suffered anxiety in some form but since last July/August (about the time I left uni and got a full time job) it just began to take over my life. There are lots of things that it stems from but 2 of the biggest things that I struggle with the most are driving and sickness. I began experiencing physical symptoms of anxiety worse than what I was used to, and the irrational thoughts I have were there pretty much from when I woke up to when I went back to sleep – my head was just a constant washing machine! After speaking to my GP, I started CBT which is going great. It’s helping me understand everything and think in a more positive way and I’m really looking forward to carrying on the sessions and nipping this bloody awful anxiety in the bud!

The other main reason for my brief absence is work. I love my job, I am so lucky and grateful that I went to uni and got a degree, and then managed to find a job in the field I wanted to work in so quickly. I always knew I wanted to working in Marketing and for that reason I wanted to make sure I was putting my everything into my job. My job role is also changing slightly come August, I am going from a Digital Marketing Officer to a Customer Communications and Marketing Officer. It will be everything I’m doing now with a few added extras such as advertising, budgeting, PR and other stuff I haven’t really had any experience in yet but I am so excited and ready to learn and gain knowledge in more areas in marketing! My office also relocated so we are now based at one of our Lakes, Roadford Lake in Devon. I’m taking full advantage of the vanilla lattes from the café and the beautiful view!

Now that I’m kind of getting back into the flow of things, I am determined to get back into blogging as regularly as I can. It may not be as often as I like but I’ll get there eventually. I have a lot of things to look forward to over the next few months which is helping me with my brand new positive mind-set.. my best friend’s wedding in July, we’re going to Friends Fest in August (OMG EEKK), a possible trip to London in September and we are also looking at booking a nice holiday for next Summer (if we don’t get away this year) and we are obviously still in the process of saving to buy a house.

I am happy I have finally had the time and confidence to sit down and write this post and I’m looking forward to getting back into my normal blogging and general life!

Thanks for reading my rambles..

  1. Welcome back beautiful! I know that managing blogging, mental health and a job is incredibly exhausting, but I’m here to tell you that you are crushing it! Also, I love that you’re doing CBT sessions to help with your anxiety; it’s so important to step back and take time for ourselves so that we can make sure we’re the best version of ourselves that we can be! I hope you feel supported in your journey and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and your blog! 💗
