The last few months have been mental, which is the main reason for my lack of blogging. I lost my way a little and unfortunately, I get overwhelmed easily, and I felt there was too much going on to balance everything. Now that things are starting to calm down a little bit I’m ready to pick up where I left off – let’s go!
I guess the biggest thing that has happened to me recently is that we bought a house! I explained in a blog post a fair few months ago now that we had reserved our first ever home, well we’ve now moved in! Our completion date was Friday 14th June and we moved all our stuff in on Saturday 15th. We are loving our little home and decorating it and making it our own is something we’re really enjoying. Buying a house together has been something we have wanted to do for practically the whole of our 9 year long relationship and I just can’t believe we’ve done it. I find myself quite often sitting on the sofa and randomly thinking “oh my god, I own this house!”. It’s madness really but I am just so proud of us. We did it! Leaving my mum, dad, sister and my faaavourite thing in the world.. the dog has been much harder than I anticipated, but I know it will get easier and I’m only 20 minutes away from them so we cram in some regular visits! Little by little we are making our house into a happy home, and we are loving it!
I have needed a new car for a while now, with my job involving a lot of travelling to different offices, my little 2010 Seat Ibiza Sport was was clocking up the miles incredibly quickly, and when the time eventually came to say goodbye it had just under 150 thousand miles on the clock!! We had been having a look around and we knew we wanted something bigger, with a diesel engine, something newer with hardly any miles, and something much smoother to drive up and down the dual carriage way. We test drove a few and settled on an Astra. For some reason I just didn’t love any others as much and luckily Josh agreed! We found one we loved, a 66 plate, with Apple CarPlay (which is just genius) and we love it. So bye bye little Seat and hello new Astra! (Which I’ve named Toothless because it’s black and I LOVE the How to Train your Dragon films!!)
New Job! (well ish)
Some of you who have read my posts before may or may not know I started a new job back in January after being ‘let go’ in the most horrific, ridiculous way from my old job. My confidence was at an all time low and I was in a horrendous place with my mental health due to months and months of being belittled and made to feel like sh*t on a daily basis. Well, it turns out being ‘let go’ was the BEST thing that could’ve ever happened to me. I’ve been in my new job for coming up for 7 months now, and *touch wood* I’m still loving it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s much more demanding/busy role than I’m used to but that’s what I love. It challenges me and because I’m busy, my days just go so much quicker and I’m happier. And what’s more, I work with some great people. I have a great team around me and great support from my manager which is something I never had before, and because of that I feel like I can do it even in the most stressful times. People, if you’re unhappy in a job please just leave! Nothing is worth your misery and trust me when I say things get better.
A Blogging Schedule?
I miss blogging, I really do. I miss sitting down at my computer and writing about what I love. My goal from here on is to get into a little bit more of a blogging routine. I don’t have as much time on my hands now as I did when I first started blogging, but I’m thinking if I can get at least one post a month up for the rest of this year, then for 2020 I can start thinking about something more regular. Does anyone else have any tips on how I can keep up a blog whilst working full time? Any tips will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for reading my ramble.. hope you enjoyed a little life update. Let me know whats going in your life at the mo, I’d love to know how everyone is getting on! I plan on not leaving it so long before I’m back with another post!
