I’m going to be honest, it’s been a long time since I sat down and wrote a blog post, so what better way to get back into the blogging mojo than to start off with my goals for 2020? I know, more of the ‘New Year new me’ rubbish that everyone comes out with but, my favourite thing to do on the 1 January is set myself new goals for the next 12 months.
- Saving for our wedding
We are getting married in October this year (this year eekk!) and weddings are bloody expensive! Our main goal this year is to save money for the wedding and for a lovely honeymoon!
- Get back into running
I know I say this every year, but this year I have a wedding dress to fit into! Last year I started the couch to 5k app, but gave up after about 2 weeks. This year I am determined to pick it up again! I have downloaded the couch to 5k app. Once I can run 5k, my aim is to get to 10k. My ultimate goal would be to run either a 10k or a half marathon for charity. But let start small and work my way there! As well as this, another goal for 2020 is to eat better as well and start getting myself a lot healthier than I am currently!
- Read more books
This is one of my goals from last year, and a bit like the running it started off well but started to go a little bit down hill! I’m currently reading The Rosie Project which has been on my to read list for a long time, and I’m really enjoying it!
- Learn to cook!
Since moving out in June ’19, I’ve been wanting to learn to cook. I’ve definitely got better but having my own kitchen is so much fun and I definitely want to work harder at putting it to good use. I’m lucky that Josh also loves to cook, but I’d love to be able to do it together
- Make time for the two of us
We are surrounded by a lot of family which is great, and I’m so grateful to have two families who we love and who love us so much but we are soon going to be a married couple, and I want to make sure that this year we make time to have quality time just the two of us rather than being with everyone else all the time. Whether it’s the odd weekend away, or just a weekend at home.
Hope you enjoyed reading through my goals for the new year ahead, I would love to read yours. What are your 2020 goals? Hope you all have the best start to 2020!
